Samad Seyidov: 'we Should Think Seriously Within Framework of National Interests While Establishing Relations With Council of Europe'

'It is necessary to think seriously within the framework of national interests while establishing any relationship with the Council of Europe,' head of Azerbaijani Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Samad Seyidov told APA.

S. Seyidov stated that very serious processes are ongoing within Council of Europe: 'January session of PACE showed this once again. The organization is experiencing a systemic crisis. Therefore we observe serious problems in the organization's relations with the states. Establishing relations by Council of Europe with countries has become a difficult issue. As an example of this, we have seen its relationship with Azerbaijan. Even in the midst of this crisis, Azerbaijan tried to show a normal, constructive approach to the report that was harsh and full of criticism.'

S.
